Plymouth Selectman Mathew Muratore Announces Candidacy for State Representative
PLYMOUTH – Board of Selectman Chairman Mathew Muratore, (R-Plymouth), formally announced today that he will run for State Representative in the First Plymouth District which comprises Precincts 2-8, 10, 12, 14 & 15 in Plymouth.
Muratore decided to run for the First Plymouth House seat after State Representative Vinny deMacedo, (R-Plymouth) announced his intention to run for State Senate in the Plymouth & Barnstable District. “It has been a privilege to work with Rep. deMacedo, as he has done great work for the people of Plymouth over the past 15 years. I would be honored to have the opportunity to continue that outstanding level of representation, “ said Mathew Muratore.
“As a member of the Plymouth Board of Selectmen for the past four years, a healthcare administrator and a local businessman, I have demonstrated the ability to listen, bring people together from all perspectives, and achieve positive and successful outcomes. As Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, I have worked diligently to move our town forward and to address current and future challenges in a fiscally responsible way. If elected, I will continue to demonstrate the same responsive leadership as your State Representative,” he said.“I am running for State Representative because I want to serve the town and the residents of Plymouth as their voice on Beacon Hill. I will bring my municipal experience as Selectman and my ability to partner with people of different political views and party affiliations to the State House to ensure that Plymouth receives effective representation in the Massachusetts House of Representatives ,” said Muratore.
Muratore has served on the Plymouth Board of Selectmen since 2010. Previously he served on the Plymouth Advisory & Finance Committee and the Plymouth Council on Aging Board of Directors from 2005-2010. He is also a member of the Plymouth Rotary, BNI-Pinehills, the Knights of Columbus, and the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce.
A Plymouth resident since 2001, Muratore grew up on the South Shore and graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School. He is a graduate of Northeastern University and has been the Administrator at Plymouth Rehabilitation and Health Care Center since 2003. He is also part owner of Crayon College Day Care Centers.
Muratore has six daughters and lives in Plymouth with his wife Kristin, a local attorney.
